Charlottesville, Virginia is a college town of almost 50,000 people, and an interesting case study, in comparison to another vibrant college based towns such as Austin Texas, Madison, Wisconsin, or Ithaca, New York. In general, we could say that Charlottesville is on the cusp of an expansion towards trends that could classify it as a fast growing city, and a possible center of advanced dental marketing. At the moment, it is most definitely not- although there are 77 dental offices for a population of 48,000, which has grown 10% in the last 6 years- since the completion of the last census. Unusually, though leading trends are in place, the highest scoring office in Charlottesville scores a 20, and there is a quick drop off in the quality of dental office marketing in the area. In particular, we see little evidence of outbound techniques such as event participation. Area median income lags our leading US Denta+media® focus areas- but is also growing at a 10% rate over the last 6 years. Charlottesville represents a great opportunity for the implementation of advanced dental marketing techniques.

Hamer & Hamer Orthodontics is a leading dental office in Charlottesville practicing Denta+media techniques of advanced dental marketing, scoring a 20 on our Denta+media Social Factors scale. The office scores branding points with a colorful and creative logo, and is staffed for success, with an office manager and front office staff. They attend to the blog, if not regularly, and have a high number of Facebook likes, which is also the most solicited of the review options. We see some evidence of a social event participation- we recommend that your dental office develop a regular schedule of participation in local healthcare expos, charity events, fun runs and educational events- it's a great way to meet the community. Hamer & Hamer does maintain other social media outlets without scoring high- but they appear to be on the right path.
